Therapeutic Goals:
1. Develop a motor plan

3. Awareness of the oral structures
4. Pre-feeding skills
5. Oral placements for speech clarity
6. Jaw stability, grading and strength
7. Range or motion post franectomy
8. Lip mobility, closure and rounding
9. Lingual mobility, protrusion, retraction, lateralization, elevation and back-tongue side spread
Suggestions:
1. Use inside or outside of the mouth to bring awareness to the cheeks, jaw, lips and tongue before implmenting therapy for feeding, muscle-based exercises, or speech;
2. The Sensi® can be used with or without vibration, depending on the needs of the individual client;
3. Place the tip in the freezer, ice water, or use a flavored powder or extract to further increase interest of the sensory input of the tool if appropriate. In most situations it will be important for the therapist to hold the tool to ensure proper placement;
4. In some instances, allowing the child to hold the tool initially or using a hand-over-hand placement may increase acceptance of the new tool;
